  What do I need to know? 

  • Self-Represented users must first create a Colorado Courts E-Filing (CCE) account.
  • E-Filing is currently only available in Family (DR) cases and in Eviction (Forcible Entry & Detainer/FED) cases.
  • Self-Represented users may only e-file or e-serve in their own cases. You cannot e-file for someone else and someone else cannot e-file for you. 
  • If you have an existing case - remember to "Opt In" to connect your CCE e-filing account with the court sytem. 
  •  US Mail service fees are non-refundable.

  • An Eviction case cannot be started in CCE. It must be filed with the court first.

FAQs


 I created an e-filing account, why can't I see my case?

Log in to your e-filing account. Click on e-file into existing case and follow the "Opt In" process. The court must accept your "Opt In" filing and then you will have 24/7 access to your case. It can take up to 2 business days to get access. 


  My filing or document was rejected, now what?

Check your e-mail. You’ll have one telling you the document was rejected and why.Log-in to your e-filing account and check your case activity. It will show if the filing has been submitted, accepted or rejected. Click on the rejected filing and then the document history.

    How much does it cost to e-file?

  • There are 3 types of fees; Statutory, E-Filing & E-Service. Click here to learn more. 
  • USPS fees (for Service) are not waivable.  

  What common mistakes should I avoid?

  • Do not file or use the e-filing system for someone else.
  • Do not let someone else e-file your documents.
  • Make sure the caption box is filled out complete on every page that has one.   
  • Make sure you sign every place that asks for a signature.
  • Make sure you scan documents correctly.
    • Each document must be scanned separately. If it contains multiple pages – that’s still one document and pages should be scanned together.
    • You can include multiple documents for one filing, but they can’t be combined into one scanned document. Each document needs to be scanned separately then uploaded into your filing.
